In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering young students across Jamaica, HerFlow Foundation is proud to announce the success of its 2024 Orientation School Tour, which has already impacted over 5,000 students from 15 schools nationwide. This educational tour, running from August 29 to September 11, 2024, is designed to equip both male and female students with crucial knowledge about menstrual health, hygiene, and emotional well-being as they transition through puberty.

The Orientation School Tour 2024 is part of HerFlow’s ongoing mission to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide young Jamaicans with the tools they need for a healthy and dignified period. The Foundation has worked tirelessly to create an open, supportive space for students to discuss menstrual health in a positive and educational way, helping to empower them for a brighter future.
Tour Schedule and Impact
The tour kicked off on August 29, 2024, with two impactful sessions in Kingston. The first session at Camperdown High School reached an enthusiastic group of students, followed by an afternoon session at Utech later that day. The momentum continued across the island, with students in Portmore, Clarendon, Trelawny, and Manchester receiving invaluable guidance on managing menstrual health and personal hygiene.
Empowering Students with Knowledge
During each session, students received comprehensive education on menstrual health, including how to manage periods effectively, understand the physical and emotional changes they may experience during puberty, and how to maintain proper hygiene during their cycles. HerFlow’s expert educators and facilitators also distributed hygiene kits containing sanitary products, helping to ensure that students have the necessary tools to manage their health with dignity.
In addition to menstrual health education, the tour also provided critical discussions around self-esteem, confidence, and emotional well-being, particularly as students navigate the often challenging transition from adolescence to adulthood. HerFlow Foundation believes that empowering students with this knowledge not only improves their health but also enables them to achieve better academic outcomes, reduce stigma, and build a more positive, open environment for menstruation discussions.
Creating a Lasting Impact
By the end of the Orientation School Tour 2024, 5,000+ students across Jamaica will have been equipped with knowledge, resources, and support to manage their menstrual health and well-being confidently. This tour underscores HerFlow Foundation’s commitment to addressing period poverty and ensuring that all Jamaican girls have access to the products and education they need for a dignified period.
The success of this initiative also highlights the ongoing need for programs that reach vulnerable populations and provide the necessary resources for health education and personal development.
Looking Forward
As HerFlow continues to expand its efforts to eradicate period poverty and provide comprehensive education to Jamaican youth, the Foundation looks forward to partnering with more schools, community groups, and corporate entities to expand the reach of initiatives like the Orientation School Tour.
Through initiatives like these, HerFlow is proud to make a lasting difference in the lives of young Jamaicans, ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, has access to the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.
