Celebrate Her
In recognition of International Women’s Day, Celebrate Her is an initiative designed to recognize and award Jamaican women who make significant contributions to their communities at the grassroots level. The project will celebrate these unsung heroes while equipping them with the tools, skills, and knowledge needed to scale their efforts for greater impact.
Project Outcomes:
Public Recognition and Awards Ceremony
Publicly recognize and award (HerFlow Unsung Shero Award) outstanding Jamaican Women who make a significant difference in their community.
Increased Visibility
Awardees will gain visibility, which may lead to further community support, additional funding, and stronger partnerships for their initiatives.
Capacity Building Workshop
A workshop will be designed to help honorees regularize their operations, providing them with knowledge and tools in areas such as project management, fundraising, impact measurement, and partnership building.
Scalable Grassroots Initiatives
Honorees will develop actionable plans to scale their efforts and create a wider impact in their communities, fostering more systematic support for the youth and families they serve.
HerFlow Unsung Shero Awards.
Celebrate Her was created in 2019 to recognize and honor Jamaican Women doing amazing work in their communities with the HerFlow Unsung Shero Awards.
Recognition of Impact
Publicly recognize and award (HerFlow Unsung Shero Award) outstanding Jamaican Women who make a significant difference in their community.
Capacity Building
Empower honorees with professional development workshops and mentorship opportunities to help them formalize, expand, and sustain their community initiatives for lasting social impact. Each awardee will also receive a small grant to further their work and continue making a difference.
Community Engagement
Foster greater community participation through an inclusive nomination process, encouraging parents, students, and school stakeholders to participate via social media and other channels.
Sustainable Development
Support honorees in developing strategies for scaling their grassroots efforts, promoting sustainability and long-term success in their community initiatives.
Prizes and Giveaways
To encourage community engagement and show appreciation for those who support our incredible guidance counselors, Celebrate Her will feature special prizes and giveaways for friends, relatives, and nominators.

2026 HerFlow Unsung Sheroes
This year, Celebrate Her 2026 shone a well-deserved spotlight on 20 extraordinary women who stepped up in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. These women became first responders in their own right—organizing relief efforts, feeding families, supporting children, and restoring hope in communities that needed it most.
