HerFlow Foundation brought its impactful message and vital resources to the 2024 Sigma Corporate Run, held on February 18, in Kingston, Jamaica. With the theme “Periods Don’t Stop for 5Ks,” HerFlow provided free menstrual products to participants who may have started menstruating during the event. This initiative emphasized the importance of supporting menstruators in every aspect of their lives, including during athletic activities.
The Sigma Corporate Run, one of Jamaica’s largest charity races, attracts thousands of participants each year, making it the perfect platform to raise awareness about period equity. HerFlow’s volunteers offered essential products, information about period care, and a safe space for runners to address any menstruation-related needs during the event.
Shelly-Ann Weeks, Founder and Executive Director of HerFlow Foundation, emphasized the importance of breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation in public spaces:
“Menstruation doesn’t pause for events, work, or school. It’s important that we create an environment where menstruators can thrive without fear or embarrassment, even during a 5K race. This initiative is part of our larger mission to normalize conversations about periods and provide support wherever it’s needed.”

By participating in the Sigma Corporate Run, HerFlow continued its ongoing advocacy for period equity while highlighting the importance of inclusivity in public and professional settings. The event also helped raise awareness about HerFlow’s broader efforts to end period poverty and ensure all Jamaicans have access to menstrual products.
Through its impactful presence, HerFlow reinforced its mission: that periods should never stop anyone from achieving their goals—whether it’s crossing a finish line or breaking barriers in life.
